Hey there! Can I overshare with you for a sec?
I’m Hannah, a Houston-based graphic designer.
I won't drop my entire life story here, but I will share that my love for design began early, creating layout spreads for my high school newspaper. I always appreciated how good design captures us by combining function and creativity. I also loved the intricacies and detail that came with putting together a successful print publication.
With a strong interest in journalism and design, I majored in communication at the University of St. Thomas in Houston, while staying involved in editing and designing student publications. My career path led me to the bustling world of PR, managing content creation for a diverse roster of clients. I credit my years in this field with teaching me how to work with clients to reach their goals on budget and on deadline. While I got to exercise my design skills in this role, I wanted to fully dedicate my time to graphic design.
This career change put me on a plane to London, where I attended Shillington, an intensive, 3-month graphic design program. I was able to combine my design experience with foundational design principles and tools. I also learned plenty of English slang.
Since then, I’ve had the pleasure of working with national and global brands on a wide array of projects. My clients roster includes Indeed, CVS Health, Gonna Need Milk, and H&R Block. On the "work" tab of this site, you’ll see some of that work. The remainder of the projects in this book are student-led briefs I completed at Shillington, where I had full creative control. I’m happy to answer any questions about these projects, my design process and how I work with clients to meet their design needs within their brand standards and values.
In my free time, I enjoy reading, watching the birds outside my window with my two cats, co-hosting a podcast with my sister, buying overpriced lattes, gardening, and watching old seasons of RuPaul's Drag Race.
